A quick guide on how to package glass bottles
Christmas is just around the corner! The nation is preparing for an exciting few months of visiting festive markets and enjoying a traditional Christmas beverage.
Supermarkets are preparing for a busy period; companies are preparing for their corporate Christmas parties and houses are stocking up on all their festive favourites. So, overall a good time for people…unless you’re in the business of shipping alcohol or glass bottles.
Traditionally the use of bulky polystyrene bottle packs has been a common solution as protective packaging for glass bottles, however, these are bulky to store and not easy to recycle. However, there is a new innovative replacement on the market; Say hello to Flexi-Hex®.
Flexi-Hex® was initially designed by two brothers with the goal of protecting their surf-boards and their local marine environment. It has now been transformed into a plastic-free, biodegradable concertina style honeycomb protector ideal for bottle protection.
Flexi-Hex® comes flat packed and takes up very little warehouse storage space. The kit comprises a protective sleeve which expands into an impact resistant layer around a bottle and includes a self-sealing pinch top postal box, which adds an extra level of protection.
By replacing polystyrene bottle packs with Flexi-Hex® you can save a significant amount of storage space, allowing you to stock more goods. Win, win right?

Wait there’s more! Airsac®, is an innovative, inflatable packaging solution that’s specifically been developed to protect fragile and breakable goods in transit.
Airsac® protects goods in transit and is composed of just 2% film and 98% air when inflated. It can even be reused and recycled.
The multi-chamber design means that even if one inflatable chamber bursts during transit, goods will remain intact and undamaged.
