Our value tapes are made using 25-micron BOPP polypropylene film with a water-based, acrylic adhesive, making them both a cost-effective and environmentally friendlier option.

Macfarlane’s strong standard polypropylene tapes are renowned for their high performance, with on-going adhesion.

Manufactured using 25-micron BOPP polypropylene, in buff or clear shiny-finish, standard tapes come either with solvent-based adhesives, for long-term sealing, or hot melt adhesives, recognised for their versatile application, superior tensile strength and ultimate fixing power.

These standard tapes are hard to tear and therefore require a hand dispenser for cutting.

For top performance with a quieter release, choose low noise polypropylene packing tapes.

Our premium packing tapes are manufactured using 32-micron vinyl and solvent-based adhesive for long-term sealing.

Self-adhesive paper tape is a recyclable alternative to plastic based tapes. Using a Hot Melt adhesive and adhering directly to the box, it can be applied using a standard tape gun. We offer the tape in either a matt or gloss finish, to enhance the look of your shipments. Please note, the gloss finish tape is silicone coated and not suitable for H taping.

Our self-adhesive paper tape range is fully recyclable but, unlike gummed paper tape, this product does not biodegrade and is not home compostable due to the addition of Hot Melt adhesive. However, the tape can be recycled in the waste paper stream as the adhesive (and silicone coating) is removed during processing.

General purpose masking tape is easy to tear and removes cleanly after use. Macfarlane’s range of masking tapes is manufactured from flexible creped paper and can be used in temperatures up to 60oC.

Biodegradable and recyclable gummed paper tapes from Macfarlane provide an environmentally friendly alternative for standard packaging. These hardwearing tapes are suitable for sealing all parcels and cartons.

Tapes require water to activate the adhesive. A paper tape dispenser is required to moisten, cut and dispense tape automatically. Once removed from the box the tape cannot be resealed and therefore provides visible evidence of any tampering. It is also tolerant of storage temperature fluctuations.

This extremely strong adhesive tape is reinforced with glass fibre filaments either down the length of the tape (single weave) or across and down the tape (cross weave). A popular solution for bundling bulky items and sealing or reinforcing heavy boxes, reinforced filament tape is also a widespread choice for packing in the steel industry as a replacement for steel and polypropylene strapping.

A packing knife or scissors is required to cut reinforced filament tape, offering tamper-evident qualities, as any cut will be easily noticed.

If the tape has been removed or tampered with, a ‘void opened’ message appears on the package surface. Once pulled away the tape cannot be reused or resealed without being noticed.
