Package: £29,786 – £31,000 (dependent on experience) + Bonus and other Company benefits                        
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7am – 3pm
Reporting to: Production Manager

The Company
GWP, one of the UK's leading packaging manufacturers (now part of Macfarlane Packaging), are looking for a Production Planner to join our established team. You will become part of a business established for more than 30 years, with a strong history of producing sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging.  Being part of Macfarlane PLC (the UK's largest packaging distributor) and experiencing strong growth over the past three years.
 
The Production Planner Role
We are looking for a Production Planner to join the production team. You will be responsible for completing the daily and future plan for the production processes ensuring the routing from process to process and considering the changing demands from customers and internal departments. GWP specialize in supplying their customers just in time and this requires a high element of flexibility in the production of our products.
 
The Production Planner Key Responsibilities
• Prepare the production schedule and communicate it to the production team with the Production Manager.
• Ensuring delivery dates for raw materials align with the production plan and constantly review.
• Communication with raw material suppliers regarding changes to the plan to control stock levels.
• Reviewing the production schedule and amending it depending on changing customer demands.
• Communication with internal departments about progression of works orders.
 
Do you have the correct profile?
• Previous planning experience in a fast paced environment.
• Use of IT systems including MS Office. (Excel and Outlook required)
• Use of a manufacturing Planning / MRP package.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Ability to adapt and change plans to a changing workload.
• Planning within a service led business (preferred)
• JIT/Kanban production – batch methods (preferred)
