Privacy Policy

All the information you need about our privacy policy

Security & Privacy

At Macfarlane Packaging and Macfarlane Group UK Limited (further described below as
“we/Macfarlane”), we take all security issues very seriously. We understand that security is
important to our customers and therefore implement security systems that provide security to the latest industry standards.

  • SSL Certificate – our website has an SSL certificate. This stands for Secure Sockets Layer. It is a file that encrypts the connection between a web browser and a website’s server. This secures user data, verifies our website identity and helps keep it secure. It is indicated by the appearance of a locked padlock in most browsers. A websites URL starting “https” rather than “http” is also an indicator of an SSL certificate.
  • We do not hold credit / debit or other payment details on our website- once a payment is validated and approved, payment details are deleted. As a result, customers are required to re-enter credit card details each time an order is placed online with us. This ensures maximum security for ordering online at Macfarlane Packaging.
  • Additional security measures - this site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. Our sales order management system and internal network is protected by the latest proxy technology.

For information on how we handle your data, please see our privacy policy below.

Your rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data are briefly summarised below, and where applicable you can exercise these rights by contacting us using the contact details outlined above. :

  • Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a “data subject access request”). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data and we try to respond to all requests within one month.
