The best ice pack for shipping your products is dependent on the temperature required and length of time the goods will be in transit. Ice sheets are suitable for ambient and chilled goods that are well insulated in the packing process. However, if you are shipping frozen products or, goods that will be in transit for 36 hours or more, you should consider a gel ice pack or, dry ice.
How long ice sheets stay cold is dependent on factors such as the surrounding temperature, the insulation of the packaging, and the number of cool packs used. Generally, ice sheets provide cooling for 24-36 hours under optimal conditions.
Yes, ice sheets are reusable. They can be refrozen and reused multiple times.
Ice sheets contain water that freezes into solid ice. When frozen, they behave much like ice cubes and are solid until they melt, they have a much quicker melting point that gel packs. An Ice sheet design, typically made up for smaller frozen squares, means that they can be quite flexible to mould around the product you are shipping.
Ice gel packs contain a gel-like substance that freezes but remains semi-solid. The gel inside stays flexible even when frozen, allowing flexibility to shape the pack around the product for localised cooling. Because they melt more slowly than ice packs, they hold their coldness for longer.
