We’re here to serve your business with the best packaging solutions

As one the UK’s largest distributor of protective packaging materials, we can provide your business with shipping boxes and thermal liners.

The thermal packaging solution you need will depend on the product you’re shipping (e.g. perishability, weight, fragility, size), the temperature that needs to be maintained in the pack (ambient, chilled, frozen) and the shipping journey (e.g. how will you be shipping the product – by air or by courier networks etc).

You should also consider if there are any legal requirements for the particular product you’re shipping, such as food or pharmaceuticals. This may differ, depending on where you’re shipping to and from, especially if you’re shipping internationally.

At Macfarlane Packaging, we have a team of temperature controlled packaging experts. Get in touch if you need further advice.
The outer cardboard boxes used in Macfarlane’s chilled packaging kits can be recycled at kerbside. All paper-based liners can be recycled too.

If you’ve chosen a CooliMate® product, please check the recycling options locally.

All Macfarlane Packaging thermal packaging products are labelled clearly with an Environmental Impact Rating, which shows the type of material the packaging is made from, the percentage of recycled content and if you can recycle it.
RecycoolMe and Coolimate® can maintain a temperature of -2°C or between 2-8°C for up to 48 hours and insulated pallet boxes can keep products between 2-8°C degrees for up to 48 hours, when used with coolants.

For more precise durations, Macfarlane Packaging offers solutions tailored to specific temperature-sensitive needs, ensuring the safe transport of perishable or temperature-controlled goods.
RecycoolMe is a great sustainable temperature controlled packaging solution for shipping temperature sensitive goods that is comprised of an outer box with recyclable paper-based liners.

Our chilled packaging RecycoolMe thermal liners maintain a consistent temperature for the movement of perishable goods. This ensures products arrive to your customer in pristine condition, when paired with appropriate coolants.

RecycoolMe chilled packaging boxes are quick and easy to assemble, speeding up your packing time too.

Plus, RecycoolMe shippers are 100% kerbside recyclable and they are made from recycled kraft paper. Each of these options can be easily recycled at home.
Chilled packaging shipping boxes and thermal liners from Macfarlane Packaging are packaging solutions designed to protect and maintain the quality of goods during transit, particularly for temperature-sensitive products.
  • Shipping boxes: These are sturdy containers, made of corrugated cardboard, that provide structural protection for items being transported. Macfarlane Packaging offers a variety of box sizes and strengths suitable for different shipping needs.
  • Thermal liners: These are insulating materials used to line the inside of shipping boxes, helping to regulate the temperature of the contents. They are especially useful for perishable goods, pharmaceuticals, and other temperature-sensitive items. Thermal liners help keep products cool or chilled during shipping by reducing heat transfer and can be used in combination with refrigerants like ice packs.
Together, these products are designed to ensure that goods are safely delivered while maintaining their required temperature and condition.
Chilled packaging is packaging that is designed to preserve the temperature of goods during shipping. It is used to protect products such as food (including meat, dairy, fish and prepared meals), drinks, pharmaceuticals and other temperature sensitive products.

You may also see this type of packaging referred to as temperature controlled packaging, as well as thermal packaging.

During use, thermal packaging will maintain an ambient, chilled, or frozen temperature within a pack, if paired with an appropriate coolant. This type of packaging is widely used in cold chain logistics (where goods throughout the supply chain require low temperatures).

Thermal packaging can also be used to retain heat, where goods are required to be kept at warm during shipping.
